Plugins are small add-in programs used to extend the capabilities of QGIS.

We and Faunalia have been developing plugins to make it easier to import Ordnance Survey maps into QGIS. It is generally recommended that you use the Faunalia plugins where possible (available via the QGIS plugin manager).

Our programs are still experimental, undergoing testing and enhancements. They are provided “as is” to help users get going with Ordnance Survey.

Please let us know if you find any problems with them or have suggestions for improvements.

  • OS Tools - various tools to convert Ordnance Survey files and make them much easier to use with QGIS.

The following is an old and now superseded tool. OS Tools is generally recommended as a more complete and reliable solution.

  • os2ogr2 - convert Ordnance Survey GML and GZ files to shapefiles.
