River Avon

The Avon crosses the western part of the parish near the church and Dauntsey House. As would normally be the case, the church and surrounding properties are outside the areas prone to historic flooding and unlikely to be adversely affected by anything other than rising levels due to global warming.

There issues with road flooding immediately west of the bridge over the river in times of flood. There is inadequate capacity through the high verge on the southern side of Church Lane in this area which leads to the depth of water seen here (pony and trap). While lowering this verge may help, this section of road is likely to become impassible to cars during any flooding event.
