The following vector grids and matching styles can be used to create an overlay grid that matches Ordnance Survey’s tile naming conventions.
Spatial indexes are also included for improved QGIS render speeds.
- 100 km x 100 km - this is the size of the standard Ordnance survey two-letter tile.
- 10 km x 10 km - this tile is identified by a two-letter and two-digit tile name. The first digit increments going east and the second increments going north.
- 5 km x 5 km - this tile is identified by the two-letter and two-digit codes as above followed by a further two letters - NW, NE, SW, or SE.
- 1 km x 1 km - this tile is identified by a two-letter and four-digit tile name. The four digit code has the first pair incrementing going east and the second pair incrementing going north.
